Method
Step 1
Take your cardboard and glue some light blue tissue paper to one side.
Step 2
Cover your cardboard tube in PVA glue.
Step 3
Carefully roll and cover your cardboard tube with a piece of coloured card.
Firmly hold it in place until secure.
Step 4
Bring back the PVA glue and glue down any overlapping coloured card.
Step 5
It’s time to paint your tube. Use whatever combination of colours and shapes you like.
You can also add on a door and windows if you like.
If you have any other decorations lying around then add them to your lighthouse too – we added some gold stars.
Step 6
Using scissors, cut a panel into your yogurt pot.
Make sure it is big enough for your LED light to fit through.
Note: Always ask an adult to help you.
Step 7
Using tape, stick your lighthouse to the sea base.
Step 8
Apply plenty of PVA glue around the base and bottom of the lighthouse.
Then surround three sides of the lighthouse with scrunched-up dark blue (or silver) tissue paper.
This represents rocks around the lighthouse.
Step 9
Take a glue stick and glue the top rim of the yogurt pot. Stick it down on top of the lid of your lighthouse.
Hold it down firmly until it’s securely in place.
Step 10
No lighthouse is complete without a light!
Switch it on and place it through the panel in your yogurt pot.
