Toilet Tube Coronation Craft

14 Apr 2023 | Inspirational Activity Ideas, Nursery and Early Years

In just a few weeks, Charles III and his wife Camilla will formally be crowned king and queen of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

Our brand ambassador The Creative Strawberries has made a fun coronation craft to try out with your children just in time for the special event!

Give this craft a go by following the instructions below.

What you’ll need:

Step 1

Cut a strip of neutral, skin-toned paper and stick this around the upper section of the toilet roll.

Step 2

Then cut a strip of black paper and stick this at the bottom of the toilet roll.

Step 3

Get some red paper and cut a wide strip and stick in the middle.

Step 4

To create a belt, cut a thin strip of black paper and stick down in the centre.

Step 5

Add a small square of gold paper or card. Using double sided tape, stick this into the middle of the thin black strip along the waist.

Step 6

To create a sash, stick some blue ribbon diagonally and add some gold paper or card on each side for the shoulder pads.

Step 7

Next, stick some white wool on the top of the toilet roll for hair.

Step 7

Add some wiggly eyes and use a black pen to draw a smile.

Step 7

Finally, cut a strip of glittery gold paper or card to wrap around the tube. Then cut a zig zag for the top to make the crown.
