30 Jan 2023 | Inspirational Activity Ideas, Nursery and Early Years

Mother’s Day is coming up on the 19th March and there is nothing better than a handmade gift.

Crafted by Bears has created a beautiful flower craft to try with your children. Follow the steps below to make your own Mother’s Day flowers.

What you’ll need:

  • Cotton pads
  • Paint markers
  • Felt pens
  • Droppers
  • Paint
  • Paper straws
  • Scissors
  • Double sided tape or glue
  • Masking tape

Step 1

Apply colour to your cotton pads by using either diluted paint, paint markers or felt tip pens. Then leave to dry completely.

Step 2

Once dried, trace around your cotton pad onto card. Cut the card and stick both together with double-sided tape or glue.

Step 3

Repeat for all three cotton pads, then fold each one in half. Now stick all three cotton pads together to form a 3D semi-circle.

Step 4

Cut a flower shape to fit under your cotton pads.

Step 5

Stick your straw to the flower with tape and then stick your cotton pads on top with glue or tape.

Step 6

Tuck in the top of a pipe cleaner and wind it down the straw. Then tuck it into the bottom of the straw.

Step 7

Cut and fold petals from the card and stick them along the straw.

Step 8

Add a bow and a little message.

Step 9

Next, add additional petals to your flower head.

Now your Mother’s Day craft is complete!
