Father’s Day Craft: Tie Bookmark

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with a heartfelt, handmade gift from the little ones? This tie bookmark craft are easy to make and add a personal touch that every father will cherish.

Follow the simple steps below with your child to make a Father’s Day tie bookmark.

 

What you’ll need:

  • Cardboard
  • Coloured/patterned paper or tissue paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pencil

 

Step 1

Make a cardboard template of two ties. One needs to be slightly larger than the other.

 

Step 2

Draw round the templates onto your chosen coloured card.

Step 3

Cut out the two tie shapes.

 

Step 4

Tear up pieces of coloured/patterned paper and glue them on the smaller of the tie shapes.

 

Step 5

Glue the smaller tie onto the larger tie. Laminate if you want it to be more long lasting but it’s not necessary.

 

Step 6

Stick strips of crepe paper inside the bottom of the tube.

 

Step 7

Add wings to your dragon if you fancy!

 

Step 8

Blow through the end to make the fire float around!
