4 easy Father’s Day crafts and activities
Let the little ones say ‘thank you’ with these 4 easy Father’s Day craft activities, including cards, photo frames and baking! What about making voucher books? Filled with different ways they can help out over the weekend…from breakfast in bed to tidying bedrooms. You could even encourage writing skills by getting the children to write letters and stories they can take home for Father’s Day.
Of course, all of these activities don’t have to relate directly to Dad. For those children who might have different family members or guardians looking after them, they can be easily changed and adapted.

Simple shortbread
Kids love baking, so this easy to make recipe should go down a treat! They make a great take home gift whilst encouraging children to develop their confidence in the kitchen. Here’s our simple shortbread recipe (makes 16):
You will need:
- 150g plain white flour
- 100g Unsalted butter
- 50g Caster sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
2) Sift the flour into a bowl with the sugar. Chop the butter into cubes and add to the other ingredients.
3) Using clean fingers, rub the butter into the flour and sugar. When the dough beings to form a shape, add the vanilla extract.
4) Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface and use some cookie cutters to create fun shapes.
5) Adults only- place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Once done, place on a wire rack to cool down.
