Let’s learn about recycling

There’s been lots of learning about recycling over at Kids Planet. They’ve done several activities in their nursery linked to recycling and cleaning the environment. Kids Planet shared their experience with us on what they’ve been doing to help clean up the environment. And showing us how they are teaching their children different ways they can recycle to help protect the environment.

Cleaning up our local beach

Pre-school wanted to help clean up our local beach and do some recycling. We went for a walk and together using a litter picker, collected plenty of litter. We found plastic, paper and cans.

Learning about recycling

After we had picked up the litter at our local beach, we decided we wanted to learn a bit more about recycling. We looked at a poster showing us the different materials we can recycle. We then read a book about how important it is to recycle.

Let’s recycle

Once we had finished learning all about what recycling means and how we do it, we each had a turn to recycle the litter we had found.

What a brilliant way to get children involved in recycling from picking up litter, learning about the environment and putting away each item in the right recycling bin. Hope this has inspired you to get out there with your children, if you don’t have a beach nearby, why not take a stroll in your local park or high street!
